I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips," burn marks", any unsightly thing).
Poor quality pearls - of any kind - are dull and chalky.
South Sea pearls are saltwater pearls cultivated in the area centered around Northern Australia and Southeast Asia including Myanmar and Indonesia.
The most common colors are white ranging from cream to silver - or pale to dark gold. Blue gray is rare but, the Ombre shading is more rare.
Tammy's pearl is just as her mother made her. Natural untreated colors are just as the mother oyster made them - not bleached, dyed, heat treated or irradiated.
