About

LusterWear is a shop I started online several years ago to sell my original handcrafted jewelry designs out of my own Laudable Mud Studio. "Laudable Mud" originated from my realization that everything beautiful, fascinating, and useful is associated with mud: pigments, gemstones, pearls, and all plant life without which, not only would I not be able to live, but I would be able to make next to nothing.

Having lived in Kentucky, California, Minnesota, New York, South Carolina, Delaware, and Texas my influences for my art are diverse domestically. And are internationally varied do to my extended family.

Using only the very best of ethically sourced and recycled materials that are available, I create lustrous, luxurious pearl and gemstone jewelry to last a lifetime and more. I strive to create objects that are as individual as each person who might enjoy them.

I specialize in carefully sourced and sustainable pearls from around the world. Pearls are unique by their very nature since they are organic gemstones. I hunt the best quality pearls available from all over the world. I do not use glass, plastic, shell or other factory made pearls. All my Pearls were made by an actual oyster or mussel bivalve. Some are grown in salt water oceans, some in freshwater lakes or streams. Pearl types include, Akoya, Freshwater, Tahitian, South Seas, Edison Freshwater, and some Golden (South Sea).

If you are interested in a particular type or color of pearl, please let me know. I might have some here, or I can ask my suppliers what they have.

Natural Wild Caught pearls ARE a thing. They are quite rare and often expensive. I have sources for both contemporary and antique wild caught pearls if you are interested. Please let me know your wishes.

Currently included with each order is my standard random gift wrapping at no additional charge. If you need extra special gift wrapping with a gift receipt and/or card which would include your greeting, Let me know via your message in the comments section upon check out.

It might be wise to also message me just to give me a heads up with your needs. I hate slip ups and I expect you do too! Thank you!!

The ring sizing, casting and all that stuff that I am not zoned for where I live and have my studio, or that would give my insurance agent the heavie geavies, is done at Jewel-Craft in Erlanger, KY. They see to it that everything is done exactly to my specifications.

I usually have two assistants at any given time. With the exception of Mary Adams, my longtime bookkeeper, sometimes model, and editor of posting information. they are always University of Kentucky students. They come from many diverse backgrounds.

Currently I have only University of Kentucky student, Yolitzy Gorostieta assisting me in the studio. Her major is Art Studio, Digital Arts. She is doing most of the photography, web design, and computer assistance. She is doing an excellent job!

Thank you for looking! Enjoy LusterWear!
