**The Stats:
Grade: AAA grade Kasumi type freshwater pearl.

Size: Large 12mm x 11mm x 10.5mm sized pearl.

Shape: Beautiful Baroque drop shape.

Skin: Gently rippled Kasumi type skin.

Color: Natural untreated rainbow metallic bronze and silver color.

Luster: Very high, gemmy luster.

Overtones: Rose, lavender, pistachio, and gold overtones. 

Considered Flawless. Lively color play.

There will be some color change across the surface of this pearl as you move due to the way the mother oyster laid down the various colors of this pearl. Lively and colorful while still soft and iridescent.

Pendant measures 18.5mm or about 3/4" in overall length. That is a bit shorter then the length of the diameter of a US quarter coin which measures 24mm across.
2g or .07oz in weight. A US penny most often weighs in at .08oz.

**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips," burn marks", any unsightly thing).

KASUMI TYPE PEARLS are a new and rare type of pearl which is cultured in China. It’s an in-body bead-nucleated freshwater pearl.

Both the Japanese Kasumi pearls (cultivated in the upstream areas of Lake Kasumi-ga-Ura, some 40 miles northeast of Tokyo) and Chinese Kasumi type pearls generally display a skin texture which shows folds, dimples, ripples and voids. These are not considered flaws, but are sought after for their visual interest and the color play that results. I have rated Tasia AAA for her luster, rarity, interest, unusual natural and intensely vivid untreated color and character.

Poor quality pearls of any kind are dull and chalky in appearance.
