** Sapphire Facts: 

Sapphire's Refractive Index is 1.762 to 1.770 which accounts for sapphires' sparkle. At a Mohs hardness of  9, sapphires are very durable. The only gemstones that have a higher Mohs rating are Moissainite at 9.5 and Diamond At 10. 

Sapphires have been used and valued for millennia. Traditionally, sapphire symbolizes nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. At various times its blues have been associated with royalty, heaven and protection. 

The cost of natural sapphire gemstones varies according to their geographic origin, size, cut, clarity and color.

Most sapphires have been treated to enhance their color and/or clarity. The most common treatment is a heat treatment. Evidence of sapphire gemstones being subjected to heating goes back at least to Roman times.

Diffusion is another treatment often practiced to enhance color in sapphires. Diffusion is a heat treatment combined with the deliberate addition of certain specific impurities, commonly  beryllium but also titanium, iron, chromium or nickel, which are absorbed into the crystal structure of the sapphire. If I know a gemstone has been treated, I will disclose that fact. Sana's color has not been treated.

All occasion wear. Light enough to wear all day and into the night. I like to angle the stars tail toward the chin to frame the face a bit. How you angle the earring would depend on how you found it the most flattering to the shape of your face.
