**The Stats:
Grade: AAA grade freshwater pearl.

Size: Large for a Freshwater pearl, 14mm x 11mm, length times width.

Shape: Nice teardrop shape.

Skin Quality: Smooth skin with some slight Circlé tendencies. 

Color: Natural untreated metallic purple; very rare.

Luster Quality: High luster.

Overtones:  Rose.

21mm or a bit more than 3/4" in overall length from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl. 

2.4g or .08oz in weight. A US dime coin weighs .08oz. 

Very Striking. Gemmy. There are a few very small dimples which I have set  toward the back. They will not be seen when worn. Romy is considered Flawless.

**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available.  AAA  grade pearl  will have  a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips," burn marks", any unsightly thing). 

Color in freshwater pearls is dictated by the colors produced by the inside of the mother oyster's shell. Romy's color is just as her mother oyster made her! The color is very rare. Edison pearls can produce something along these lines, but Romy is not an Edison pearl. She is really one of a kind!
