**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips, "burn marks", any unsightly thing).

Freshwater pearls these days are grown primarily in man-made lakes and reservoirs in China. They can be grown in rivers as well. While once a major exporter of freshwater pearls to the world, Tennessee currently is the only location in the United States that still produces pearls in commercial quantities. Over harvesting and pollution are factors that have contributed to the demise of the pearl industry in the United States. Pollution and over harvesting is still a major danger to both freshwater and salt water pearls. As long as pearls are valued people have an incentive to maintain waters that are clean enough in which to grow the oysters and mussels that make the pearls.

Freshwater pearls generally range in size from about 3.0-7.0mm. Only two percent of all freshwater pearls are round or near round. This makes large round pearls less available and more expensive.

Natural untreated freshwater pearl colors range from whitish, through pink, apricot to peach. Some unusual and rare golden, purple, and blue grays are occasionally available. 

Bright white pearls are always bleached. Some other light colors may be bleached to even out their tone.

Other colors outside of this range are permanently dyed.

Good quality treated pearls do not seem to be valued any less than the natural colored pearls, and are sometimes a good deal more sought after and therefore more expensive.

Sterling Silver is designated as .925.
Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, Sterlium Plus® Silver are all designated .930.

Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, Sterlium Plus® Silver and Sterling Silver are all nickel and lead free. The inclusion of nickel and/or lead is the main reason that plated items may irritate your skin. 

Maria should require very little care. Nevertheless, I will include a small anti-tarnish tab which should be kept with your bangle when you are not wearing it. The tab should last for 2 years. It will not harm your pearls. The tab does not prevent tarnish, but it will inhibit tarnish from forming. I will also include a pearl safe cleaning cloth with your order for your convenience.

**Shipping and insurance are quoted for delivery within the United States (free shipping in the United States only). Shipping outside of the United States will require a fee due to additional costs that vary per country. 

A signature of someone over the age of 18 may be required upon delivery.
