** The Stats:
Mari is made of solid sustainable wood which features  a large center gold-plated brass flower with a 4mm warm white freshwater pearl center. The brass roses also feature 2mm warm white freshwater pearl centers. The wood is finished using multiple coats of shellac - many coats! These take an amazing amount of time and effort to make!

The Center Pearl: 1 center freshwater pearl - AAA grade; small 4mm size; round shape; smooth skin; warm white color; high luster; with blush overtones. Flawless. 

The 2 Side Pearls - AAA grade; small 2mm size; round shape; smooth skin; warm white color; with blush overtones. Flawless. 

The pearls are matched for color and overtones.

2 3/8" or about 62mm in internal diameter. That's probably a medium to large size for this type of bangle in the US.

My hand measures 3.5 inches across my knuckles. My usual size 63mm. In China the most common size seems to be 60mm. Mari's internal circumference seems to measure just under 8". External circumference seems to be about 10". The cuff style makes her easy to put on and take off.

We have taken quite a lot of trouble to make the wooden bangle collection waterproof in case you get caught in the rain or something. But I would not soak any fine jewelry in water. A light rinse and gentle pat dry with a soft cloth should be the only upkeep needed.

**Wood Jewelry:
Has been around and used in jewelry for many thousands of years. It has gone in and out of fashion, but always seems to rebound. Usually light in weight, it is a pleasure to wear. Recently there has been a resurgence of interest in wood as a jewelry material as concerns regarding sustainability have increased. The new trend is termed "Eco Jewelry" or "Eco Fashion".

**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface area that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips, "burn marks", or any unsightly thing).

Natural untreated pearl colors range from whitish, through pink, apricot to peach.

Bright white pearls are always bleached. Other light colors may be bleached to even out their tone. Mari's pearls have been bleached.

I assume that Mari's pearls have been bleached by exposure to light, which is the traditional treatment to bleach pearls. No treatment was disclosed by the vendor. But this has been standard practice with white pearls at least since the time of the Romans.

It takes an incredible number of hours of labor to make one of these. Therefore I am only making a few. When they are gone - they're gone! Each is individual and unique. I will get them up as I can. Do to the labor intensive nature of these bangles, I will not be taking custom orders on them.
