The silver Tahitians are rather difficult to source at anything near a reasonable price. I was really lucky to find this one. Usually for a Tahitian of this size and color I would not be able to do a pendent for under $1,000.00.

Grade: AAA grade Tahitian pearl

Size: Very large 17mm x 14mm size; 37.5mm or about 1.5" in overall length. A US nickel coin measures 21mm in diameter.

Shape: Baroque drop shape

Skin: Smooth circlé skin

Color: Gorgeous rare natural untreated silver color

Luster: High gemmy luster

Overtones: Blue, pistachio and rose overtones

Unique. Gemmy. Flawless.

8.2g or .29oz in weight. The nickle weighs in at .17oz, so almost double in weight than the nickel.

**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearl will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (Dimples, chips, "burn marks" any unsightly thing). 

Tahitian pearls are grown in the warm salt waters of French Polynesia. Sizes generally range from 8mm to about 14.5mm in diameter. Length generally follows the width dimension within 2 to 2.5mm or so. Therefore a pearl listed as 8mm would normally be expected to measure 10mm x 8mm in length x width.

Their color range is quite wide producing natural untreated colors ranging through silver through various grays, to black, peacocks, and occasionally gold (not to be confused with the South Sea golds). A variety of overtones effect the body color producing what are termed pistachio, silver, champagne, gold, cherry, or lavender pearls.

Nothing glows quite like a Tahitian. They are quite individualistic.
