** The Stats:
Maren is made of solid sustainable wood and 3 vintage brass watch gears with one Freshwater 10mm button pearl and two Freshwater round 4mm pearls. The wood is finished using multiple coats of shellac - many coats! These take an amazing amount of time and effort to make!

The Pearls:
> 1 Freshwater Button Pearl: AAA grade; 10mm in size; nice even low (as opposed to tall) button shape; smooth skin; bridal white color; high gemmy luster; rose overtones. Gemmy. Flawless.

>2 Freshwater Round Pearls: AAA grade, 4mm in size, near round to round shape; smooth skin, bridal white color; high gemmy luster; rose overtones. Gemmy. Flawless.

The pearls have been matched for body color and overtones.

About 63mm or 2 1/2" in internal diameter. Considered a medium size. 

My hand measures 3.5 inches across my knuckles. My usual size 63mm. Maren's internal circumference seems to measure just under 8". External circumference seems to be about 10"

We have taken quite a lot of trouble to make the wooden bangle collection waterproof in case you get caught in the rain or something. But I would not soak any fine jewelry in water. A light rinse and gentle pat dry with a soft cloth should be the only upkeep needed.

**Wood Jewelry:
Has been around for many thousands of years. It has gone in and out of fashion, but always seems to rebound. Usually light weight it is a pleasure to wear. Recently there has been a resurgence of interest in wood as a jewelry material as concerns regarding sustainability have increased. The new trend is termed "Eco Jewelry" or "Eco Fashion".

**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface area that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips, "burn marks", or any unsightly thing).

Freshwater pearls generally range in size from about 3.0-7.0mm. Maren's pearls are within this range at a small 4mm and slightly smaller at 2mm. 

Natural untreated pearl colors range from whitish, through pink, apricot to peach. Some unusual and rare golden, purple, and blue gray to silvered colors are occasionally available.

Bright white pearls are always bleached. Some other light colors may be bleached to even out their tone. Maren's pearls have been bleached. Which means basically that they have been exposed to bright light for a certain length of time.

Other colors are permanently dyed.

It takes an incredible number of hours of labor to make one of these. Therefore I am only making a few. Each is individual and unique. Do to the labor intensive nature of these bangles, I will not be taking custom orders on them.
