This captivating and fun hand-built medium-sized ceramic bowl will dance its way into your heart! Adorned with intricate sgraffito drawings and slab runners, this unique piece is truly one of a kind. The boss additions to the pinched rim add an extra touch of interest and charm. Perfect for adding a pop of artistry to your home decor.
Malmsey Mambo is painted with Terra Sigillata made from red earth and Kentucky River native clay mined from my back yard; stamped with black underglaze color; then sgraffito drawn with abstract images both inside and outside. Clear glazed. Food safe should you choose to use it for food. Enjoy free shipping within the United States.
10 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Signed and dated.
While Malmsey Mambo is food safe, the dancing shape may prove troublesome for serving anything liquid. If you choose to use Malmsey Mambo to serve food, please hand wash and dry. It would probably be alright on the top shelf of the dishwasher, but I couldn't say for sure. The detergent used in dishwashers etches glass and glazed items over time. If you really care about something - hand wash it.
MALMSEY-the sweetest variety of Madeira wine.
MAMBO- you know...the dance with the infectious rhythm.
And there you have it - a bowl that dances! I hope you are having as much fun!

You may have noticed that I am not a “production potter”. I don't make the same thing over and over again. There is nothing wrong in doing that, it is just not where my interests lay.
I am what is termed a “studio potter”. I like bowl forms in their various guises probably the best. No two of my pieces are the same, even when working on a similar theme. It can take upwards of a week (40 hours) for me to make one piece. Any given piece may take several visits to the kiln before I get the color development that I want. I tend to treat each object that I make as an individual, rather than a “thing”. I only work with materials that I feel have a “spark” to them, a sort of “life force” element.
**Malmsey Mambo will come to you shipped via USPS Mail, insured, and carefully packaged. Shipping and insurance are FREE for delivery within the United States.
I love to ship internationally and have done so many times. I mostly ship to the EU, Great Britain, Ireland and Australia. If you require overseas shipping, contact me and I will get a shipping quote for you.
Fees such as custom or VAT taxes may be charged and would be payable to the appropriate agency upon delivery. It is the responsibility of the individual to research such fees. I have no way to research them or collect for them.
Enjoy!
