The newer tarnish resistant silvers: Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver and Sterlium Plus® Silver are designated ".930". Sterling silver is designated ".925" Genuine sterling silver will tarnish in time to a deep blue black color. If you want your silver to remain white and gleaming - it must be polished regularly.

Even though Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, or Sterlium Plus® Silver almost never needs much care, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab and a polishing cloth with your order. The tab should be kept with your ring when it is being stored. It will not prevent tarnish but will inhibit it from forming, and will not harm your pearl.

Traditional Sterling Silver, Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, and Sterlium Plus® Silver are all nickel free and lead free and will not irritate you skin.

**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available.  AAA  grade pearls will have  a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips," burn marks", any unsightly thing).

Color in freshwater pearls is dictated by the colors produced by the inside of the mother oyster's shell. Natural untreated colors range from whitish, through pink, apricot to peach.  Linnea's color is permanently dyed.

>PEARL TYPE: Pearl types that would be round enough for this setting would be Freshwater, or Akoya. A great many different colors are available, especially in freshwater pearls.

>RING SIZE: This ring mounting is readily available in ring size 6 US. If you need a different size, I can arrange that for you for an upcharge that varies somewhat according to the size needed. It would take from 2 days to 2 weeks to get the sizing done. It depends on the time of year. The closer to the holidays it gets, the longer it takes.

>METAL TYPE: Currently this setting is available in solid sterling silver, easy care Continuum silver, 14kt gold, 18kt gold, platinum, or palladium - no plating. If you would like the sterling silver version plated in Rhodium to prevent tarnish, I can arrange that as well.

>COLOR OF PEARL: request a color and I will see what is possible

>PRICE TARGET: a price range is helpful in determining what type of pearl would work for your design.
