Kalli's pearl measures  6mm or about 1/4" in diameter. Across the setting the pendant measures 18mm or a bit short of 3/4" in length X 12mm or about 1/2" in width. On a US penny coin that would be about the length from the top of the coin to about the level of Lincoln's eyes, if that helps to visualize the pendant's size.

**Pearl Facts:
Akoya (salt water) pearls are most often grown in Japan, with China producing a few in recent years. Japanese Akoya pearls are still the gold standard for Akoya pearls. Kalli is a Japanese Akoya. Each type of pearl – Akoya, Freshwater, Tahitian, South Sea, etc – has a luster and  a glow all its own. 

Akoya pearls generally command higher prices than freshwater pearls, but are generally less expensive than Tahitian or South Sea types. They tend to be rather smaller and rounder than other pearls, a 9mm diameter being about the largest possible size.

**Rhodium Plated Sterling Silver Facts: 
 Sterling Silver is designated as . 925.

Sterling Silver does not contain nickel or lead which is the main reason that silver plated items may irritate your skin.

Sterling silver will tarnish over time to a deep blue black. The tarnish may stain your pearl. To entirely prevent tarnish from forming, Sterling Silver may be Rhodium plated. This also improves the color of the silver.

Rhodium is a member of the platinum precious metals group. Rhodium is quite durable and is hypoallergenic.  It will not harm your pearls. Rhodium by itself is a good deal more expensive than platinum or gold. But used as a plating material on Sterling Silver, it is affordable, durable, and adds value to the silver.

Even though you will not actually need it with the Rhodium plating, I will include a small anti-tarnish tab with your order which should be kept with your pearls when you are not wearing them. The tab should last for 2 years. It will not harm your pearls. The tab does not prevent tarnish, but it will inhibit tarnish from forming.  It is my policy to include the tab with all my white metal designs.

As an added bonus, Rhodium plated sterling silver is very easy to keep clean!
