**Turquoise Facts
Turquoise is a semi-precious gemstone famous for its clear sky blue to green color. It is a relatively soft stone with a rating of 5-6 on the Mohs scale. It has been prized for many centuries and in all cultures in areas where the stone is found. Often associated with Heaven, Turquoise is meant to be a stone of protection and is thus given as a gift to a loved one.

The country of origin was not disclosed by the vendor, but this stone exhibits tiny golden specs which is associated with Pakistani mined gems. Turquoise is most often stabilized with an epoxy resin to increase the hardness of the stone and enhance the color. This is the case with this stone.

If someone is listing "reconstituted Turquoise", that means that the stone is artificial.

Sterling Silver is designated as .925.

Sterling Silver does not contain nickel or lead which is the main reason that plated items may irritate your skin.

Sterling Silver will tarnish over time to a deep blue black. Therefore, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab and a polishing cloth with your order. The tab should be kept with your ring when it is being stored. It will not prevent tarnish but will inhibit it from forming, and will not harm your gemstone.
