**THE STATS:
Grade: AA++ grade Tahitian Circlé pearl

Size: Large 14mm x 11.5mm size; 14mm or about 1/2" in length. On a US penny that would be the measure from the top of the coin to about the date line on the right of the coin.

Shape: Oval barrel shape

Skin: Smooth Circlé type skin

Color: Striking natural smokey black/green peacock color

Luster: Very high luster

Overtones: Blue green overtones. 

There are a couple of natural very shallow dimples which are visible in some lighting conditions. Is that still considered flawless? You decide. Consult the photos carefully. 

 7.9g or .28oz in total weight including the chain. 

**PEARL FACTS:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips," burn marks", any unsightly thing).

Tahitian pearls are in a class by themselves. Rings and a couple of shallow dimples are common and natural. They are not considered flaws. Ringed Tahitian pearls - are called "Circlé ". 

Tahitian pearls are grown in the warm salt waters of French Polynesia by the Pinctada margaritifera or black-lipped oyster. This oyster also is found in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, New Caledonia, the Philippines, Panama, and the Gulf of Mexico. 

Their color range is quite wide producing natural untreated colors ranging through various grays, to black, peacocks, and sometimes gold. A variety of overtones effect the body color producing what are termed pistachio, silver, champagne, gold, cherry, or lavender pearls.

Nothing glows quite like a Tahitian. They are quite individualistic. Exact matching is a near impossibility. Most often Tahitians are matched for near size, shape, color, and luster. Luster can range from almost mirror like to soft and silky. 

Poor quality pearls  - of any kind -  are dull and chalky.

**Sterling Facts:
Sterling silver is designated ".925" Genuine sterling silver will tarnish in time to a deep blue black color. If you want your silver to remain white and gleaming - it must be polished regularly.

Sterling silver is nickel free and lead free and will not irritate you skin.

Your order will also include a pearl safe cleaning cloth and a tarnish inhibiting tab which should be kept with your necklace when you are not wearing it. Both are safe for your pearl. The tab will not prevent tarnish, but will slow it down. It should stay effective for 2 years.
