**Topaz Facts:
Topaz is a popular gemstone for all jewelry applications. In its pure form it is white (colorless). 

Topaz has been known and used for at least 2,000  years. The Egyptians and Greeks sought and used it in their jewelry. The word "topaz" might have been derived from the Sanskrit word, "tapas", which means "fire" a recognition of Topaz's high refractive index of 1.61-1.64 (fire or sparkle)

Topaz has a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale. That makes it durable for most jewelry.  Topaz also exhibits pleochroism, which is the appearance of several colors in a single stone depending on the viewing angle. Most other similar gemstones do not typically exhibit pleochroism.

Topaz ranges from colorless (white) to yellow, orange, red-brown, light to dark-blue, pink to red, violet and light-green. Most Topaz on the market today is enhanced to change its color. Elsa's color has not been enhanced. 

Good quality Topaz is transparent to translucent. Most stones are at least "eye clean" - no visable inclusions. Elsa is flawless - no inclusions.

Topaz is highly prized for its brilliance and vitreous (glassy) lustre.

As a diamond alternative Topaz would be a good choice.

**Silver Facts:
Rhodium is a member of the platinum precious metals group. White gold and sterling silver may be plated to improve the color of the metal and to avoid tarnishing. (Yes, white gold will darken over time, but does not tarnish as sterling silver will.) 

Rhodium is quite durable and is hypoallergenic.  Rhodium by itself is a good deal more expensive than platinum or gold. But used as a plating material on Sterling Silver, it is affordable, durable, and adds value to the silver.

Even though you will not actually need it with the Rhodium plating, I will include a small anti-tarnish tab with your order which should be kept with your pearls when you are not wearing them. The tab should last for 2 years. The tab does not prevent tarnish, but it will inhibit tarnish from forming.  It is my policy to include the tab with all my white metal designs.
