Size: Earrings measure 23mm or a bit more than 7/8" in overall length; 13mm or about 1/2" at the widest point. That would be very nearly the diameter of a US quarter coin. 1.5g pr .05 oz in weight per earring. A US penny usually weighs in at .o8oz

**Gemstone Facts:
Herkimer diamonds are naturally occurring double terminated quartz crystals first mined in Herkimer County of New York state. They are marketed just as they come from the earth with no faceting or other enhancements. These have been drilled through for stringing. They are most often perfectly clear with no inclusions. They are a 7 on the Mohs scale, durable for jewelry. They rate a refractive index of 1.543 – 1.554 which is slightly less than a sapphire's 1.768–1.772 and close to emerald's 1.564–1.595. The surface is smooth, naturally polished, and vitreous.

** Silver Facts:
The newer tarnish resistant silvers: Argentium® Silver,  Continuum® Silver and  Sterlium Plus® Silver are designated ".930".  Sterling silver is designated ".925" Genuine sterling silver will tarnish in time to a deep blue black color. If you want your silver to remain white and gleaming - it must be polished regularly.

Containing more germanium than traditional alloys, these newer silver alloys are highly tarnish-resistant. These alloys are referred to as: “Argentium® Silver”, "Continuum® Silver", or “Sterlium Plus® Silver” depending on the source of the alloy. Because of its resistance to tarnishing, this new alloy of silver is expected to be safe for your skin and for you gemstones. It is more expensive than Sterling, but much less expensive than gold.

Even though  Argentium® Silver , Continuum® Silver, or Sterlium Plus® Silver almost never needs much care, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab and a polishing cloth with your order. The tab should be kept with your ring when it is being stored. It will not prevent tarnish but will inhibit it from forming.

Sterling Silver,  Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, and Sterlium Plus® Silver are all nickel free and lead free and will not irritate you skin.

The different names for this new alloy seem to be a branding thing, much like the use of the name, “Champagne”. Only the wineries located in the Champagne region of France are allowed to call their sparkling wine Champagne. Everybody else must call their wine something else.
