**Pearl Facts:
I grade my pearls using an A-AAA grading scale, where AAA is the best quality available. AAA grade pearls will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects (dimples, chips," burn marks", any unsightly thing).

Freshwater pearls generally range in size from about 3.0-7.0mm. Arda is just a bit larger that average. 

Color in freshwater pearls is dictated by the colors produced by the mother shell. Natural untreated colors range from whitish, through pink, apricot to peach.

Arda's unusual and rare color is permanently dyed.
 
Treated good quality pearls do not seem to be valued any less than the natural colored pearls, and are sometimes more sought after - and therefore a good deal more expensive. The price depends on the base quality of the treated pearls. Poor quality pearls of any kind are dull and chalky.

It has been said that contemporary Chinese cultured freshwater pearls rival the quality of the most expensive natural pearls ever found.
