Carnelian Facts Carnelian is a brownish-red mineral which is commonly used as a semi-precious gemstone. Similar to carnelian is sard, which is generally harder and darker (the difference is not rigidly defined, and the two names are often used interchangeably). Both carnelian and sard are varieties of the silica mineral chalcedony colored by impurities of iron oxide. The color can vary greatly, ranging from pale orange to an intense almost-black coloration. It is most common in Brazil, India, Siberia and Germany. This Carnelian is a genuine earth mined Brazilian gemstone of the best quality available.

None of these Silvers contain nickel or lead which is the main reason that plated items may irritate your skin. I have used the new alloy “Argentium® Silver” in this ring. Even though Nerida will almost never need much care, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab and a polishing cloth with my white metal orders. The tab should be kept with your ring when it is being stored.
