**The Stats:
Grade: AAA fine grade silicon crystal. Lab made of course as all silicon crystals are. This is the same material that is used in electronics and the solar panels that are used in space.

Size: 6mm in size; 7mm or about 1/4" across setting. 

Shape: Diamond cut shape.

Cut: Brilliant cut; smooth and well polished.

Surface: A vitreous surface.

Color: Metallic silver black color.

Clarity: Opaque. 

Carefree - conflict free - reclaimed silver - good all around.

**Silicon Crystal Facts:
Silvery gray/black silicon gemstones are the same man made Monocrystalline Silicon material used to make computer chips, some solar panels and other electronics. Its Chemical Formula is Si. It is a 7 on the Mohs scale, durable for most jewelry applications. It is opaque with a lot of light reflecting ability. A beautiful and unique stone for your inner geek!

**Silver Facts:
The newer tarnish resistant silvers: Argentium® Silver,  Continuum® Silver and  Sterlium Plus® Silver are designated ".930".  Sterling silver is designated ".925". 

Genuine .925 sterling silver will tarnish in time to a deep blue black color. If you want your silver to remain white and gleaming - it must be polished regularly.

I have used the new alloy  “Argentium® Silver” in this ring. Containing more germanium than traditional alloys, these silvers, “Argentium® Silver”, "Continuum® Silver", or “Sterlium Plus® Silver”, are highly tarnish-resistant. 

These alloys are referred to as: “Argentium® Silver”, "Continuum® Silver", or “Sterlium Plus® Silver” depending on the source of the alloy. They are more expensive than Sterling, but much less expensive than gold.

Even though  Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, or Sterlium Plus® Silver almost never needs much care, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab and a polishing cloth with your order. The tab should be kept with your ring when it is being stored. It will not completely prevent tarnish but will inhibit it from forming, and it will not harm your ring.

Sterling Silver, Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver, and Sterlium Plus® Silver  are all nickel free and lead free and will not irritate you skin.
