Brilliant Earth Mined Citrine Gemstone Pendant: Deep Golden Honey, or burnt orange, genuine Citrine 6mm faceted, round gemstone pendant set in solid Argentium® Silver for ease of care and brilliant color - no plating.

A 16" Rhodium plated Sterling Silver .9mm beaded chain with a spring ring clasp is included with this pendant. 2 styles of chains are shown in the photos. The box chain is actually a 14kt white gold chain. The popcorn chain is the one that will come with the pendant.

Size: 6mm or about 1/4" in diameter gemstone.

Shape: Round diamond faceted shape.

Color: Rich deep golden orange. A more difficult to obtain color.

Cut: brilliant diamond cut with well polished, clear, clean, vitreous surface. 

Flawless. Gem quality. Brilliant color.

**Citrine Facts:
Citrine is one of the many members of the Quartz gemstone family. The name 'citrine' is derived from 'citron', a French word meaning 'lemon'. Its color ranges from Light-yellow to dark-yellow, gold-brown, to a type of vibrant sunny orange. The more sought after stones tend to display the darker colors. Like the other members of the quartz family, Citrine has been known and used in jewelry for 2,000 or more years. It remains a very popular gemstone.

A 7 on the Mohs scale, Citrine is durable and well suited to most jewelry applications.
Citrine's Refractive Index is 1.544 to 1.553 which seems low, but is not perceived as such. Citrines warm glowing colors shimmer like the summer sun.

It is sometimes confused with Topaz and marketed as Gold Topaz, Madeira Topaz, Spanish Topaz or even Saxon Topaz. Because Topaz is a more expensive stone, and many people can't tell the difference, the confusion persists.

Natural citrine is rare, and today most citrine quartz is the result of the heat treatment of amethyst quartz. Citrine, along with Imperial Topaz, is the birthstone for November.

**SILVER FACTS:
The newer higher purity tarnish resistant silvers: Argentium® Silver,  Continuum® Silver and  Sterlium Plus® Silver are designated ".930" or ".960" depending on the amount of silver in the formula.  Traditional Sterling Silver is designated ".925"

These new formulas of silver contain more germanium than traditional Sterling Silver.  Additionally these formulas are hypoallergenic, antibacterial and highly tarnish resistant.

These silvers do not contain nickel, copper or lead  which is the main reason that plated items may irritate your skin. Rarely some people are allergic to the copper in the traditional Sterling Silver alloy. These people should not be allergic to this new  formula for silver jewelry.

Even though  Argentium® Silver , Continuum® Silver, or Sterlium Plus® Silver almost never needs much care, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab and a polishing cloth with your order. The tab should be kept with your pendant when it is being stored. It will not prevent tarnish but will inhibit it from forming.

**Chain Info:
A 16" Rhodium plated Sterling Silver .9mm beaded chain with a spring ring clasp is included with this pendant. The Rhodium plating ensures that the chain will not tarnish and is easy to care for.
