**Onyx Facts
Onyx is a semi-precious gemstone famous for its clear deep black color. It is a generally banded variety of the oxide mineral chalcedony. Agate and onyx are both varieties of layered chalcedony that differ only in the form of the bands: agate has curved bands and onyx has parallel bands. It has been a popular and affordable gemstone used in jewelry since at least Biblical times. Almost all onyx gemstones on the market are permanently dyed to even out their color. No treatment was disclosed by the vendor, but I assume this stone was treated.

Onyx is meant to be a stone of protection from all kinds of negativity.

Argentium® Silver, Continuum® Silver and Sterlium Plus® Silver Sterling Silver are all designated .930
Sterling Silver is designated as .925.

Sterling Silver and Argentium® Silver do not contain nickel or lead which is the main reason that plated items may irritate your skin.

I have used the new alloy “Argentium® Silver” in this ring. Containing more germanium than traditional alloys, these silvers, “Argentium® Silver”, "Continuum® Silver", or “Sterlium Plus® Silver”, are highly tarnish-resistant. 

Even though Argentium® Silver , Continuum® Silver, or Sterlium Plus® Silver almost never need much care, I always send along an anti-tarnish tab, desiccant packet, and a polishing cloth with your order. The tab and pack should be kept with your ring when it is being stored. It will not prevent tarnish but will inhibit it from forming, and will not harm your gemstone.
